However, casinos are usually part of, located within, and/or owned by huge hotel chains (not directly, usually through shell companies), e.g.: Hard Rock, Hilton, Marriott with very deep pockets, big marketing machines, and connections. They invest more in countries where they can have a casino beside the hotel, resort, because of the higher potential revenue. Despite the family-friendly, “curated” image they maintain, these hotel chains own sometimes up to a 100+ casinos all over the world, it’s business after all, all about money, everything else is fake, a lie./

And you would be right, but sadly, every rose has its thorns.
Property prices (to the disdain of locals!) are shot up due to the wealthy, mostly French pensioners and rich people moving in. And summer homes, mansions, time shares line most of the more popular beaches. Unless you have deep pockets (family homes for tourists starting at $500 K near the beach, timeshares are also multiple $100 K) you are better of trying one of the poorer Caribbean islands (although, I wouldn1t recommend them, they usually have really high crime rates, and a lot of desperate poor people with no prospects, who just hate the privileged wealthy tourists and foreigners).
Most forms of online gambling are also technically legal since 2010, according to the French Law 2010-476 2010 (Loi no. 2010-476 du 12 mai 2010 relative à l’ouverture à la concurrence et à la régulation du secteur des jeux d’argent et de hasard en ligne)****, which applies to Saint Barthélemy too.
