Prior to 2014, all forms of games of chance were illegal, with the exception of the lottery and bingo.
Online gambling is not regulated (it was also unregulated before 2014, the Betting Act 1966 didn’t cover internet gambling or betting, and the 2014 Casino Gaming Act also didn’t mention internet gambling, only the 2016 Gambling act mentions “e-gaming”, which is electronic gaming, not online betting). Known as the “Island of Spice” due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops (the country is the largest exporter of these in the world). /Comment: It was really unusual that there were no gambling establishments prior to 2014 (tourism oriented countries, even if they are anti-gambling, almost always have slot halls, casino gambling venues attached to hotels, accessible only for tourists, e.g.: in the entire Arab world, locals are forbidden to enter the casinos attached to the hotels only tourists can). Not to mention, Caribbean countries were always famous for their abundance of casinos./
The country was under British rule up until 1974. Since its independence, the country’s history was characterized by military coups and dictatorships, until it finally stabilized politically, after the US invasion in 1983. Grenada is a member of several international organizations, such as the United Nations (joined in the 70s), the Caribbean Community, and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States amongst others.
Prior to 2014, the only forms of gambling allowed were bingo and the state owned lottery (which is still a monopoly of the state, details below, in the lottery section). Online gambling was not regulated prior to 2014, but probably it was technically illegal (but this was not enforced and citizens played online freely).

It seems like, for now, only the licensing of land-based gambling establishments and offline activities is possible. Application fee is Eastern Caribbean $ 50 (USD$ 18.50).
Employees of licensed companies and establishments also need to acquire a license*****.
Licensing fee are set by the Gambling (Fees) Regulations****** and its many amendments.
For commercial gambling establishments (e.g.: casinos) there is nonrefundable payment of EC$ 100,000 upon application (USD$ 37 000), every other fee depends on the type of gambling establishment, and type of activity, you can check out the extensive list of fees here.

Gambling tax in Grenada
These are taxes according to Economic and Planning Affairs Minister Oliver Joseph*******:
- providing gaming machines other than gaming machines used for the purposes of e-gaming — 30% of gross receipts, or $250 per each gaming machine, whichever is greater;
- facilities for betting excluding pool betting — 30% of gross receipts;
- facilities for pool betting — 30% of gross receipts;
- promoting a lottery by a person other than a non-commercial society or a local authority — 25% of gross receipts;
