How Can Modeling and Texturing in 3D Be Implemented In Gaming And Sports Betting

To determine if modeling and texturing in 3D can be implemented to improve the player experience in sports betting and online gaming, we must first determine what it means to model and texture in 3D.

All of the shapes and things we encounter in our daily lives everyday lives can be recreated by using the process of 3D modeling. Many video games, architecture designs, and interior designs have benefited from using 3this technology. Essentially, 3D modeling is the process of creating a 3D (three-dimensional) representation of objects or surfaces using 3D modeling software.

Many industries utilize 3D modeling for many different projects, and you probably see more 3D modeled objects than you might realize.

In fact, 3D modeling is most commonly used in game development, including digital slot machines. Game developers, who work on the newer, enhanced digital slot often use 3D modeling to create the various 3D characters, settings, themes, textures, which are ubiquitous in modern slots (e.g.: Gonzo’s Quest – one of the most popular 3D slots).

/Comment: In fact, 3D graphics have been an integral part of the digital gambling scene since 2010./

The stunning visuals are not just for show, slots enhanced with 3D graphical elements perform better too (better conversion, profit per player), therefore the investment is justified and that is the reason why it is more than just a passing fad (unlike VR gambling, which seems to be just that, at least for now).

Let’s see how 3D modeling and texturing can improve online gambling and sports betting in PA, by using an example from https://gamblingpenn.com/sports-betting a legal sports betting provider in Pennsylvania.

3D Modeling in Video Gaming

You’re probably aware that many modern-day classics such as GTA V, Call of Duty, or basically any triple A games released after 2020 use 3D modeling to create characters, objects, maps, settings, and worlds to look as realistic or visually stunning as they do.

But how can 3D modeling be used in real money gaming?

Digital casino games changed much much over the last two decades and gambling software providers have been forced to step up to the plate and create games that not only have great gameplay, but they are up to the expectations of modern palyers, who are used to triple A graphics and movies with life-like CGI.

The solution of the gambling industry was 3D slots.

These 3D video slots can be found on many PA sports gambling sites as well, not just on casino websites, and they offer 3D graphics on par with current mobile games (because slots need to be mobile compatible as well). They immerse players into a fantasy world of fun, entertainment and they are the same machines, which you can find on the casino floor.

In fact, most video slots you’ll find in apps (e.g.: the Borgata sports betting app) are 3D slots.

3D Modeling in VR Gaming

Virtual Reality is a relatively new development in the gaming industry, and it is a direct result of the VR craze we are experiencing right now.

As unlikely as it is, virtual sports betting has also contributed to the global expansion of VR gaming, and all sectors of the gaming industry are experimenting with this new technology. While online gaming and sports betting Pennsylvania gambling companies are among the frontrunners of this new technology.

VR gaming, or virtual reality in gaming, is a simulated environment where players are transported into a three-dimensional world where they can interact with the game, with other players, or with the dealer in real time (see below, a virtual reality poker game).

For the time being, players have to use clunky VR gadgets (e.g.: VR headsets) to experience VR gaming, but new wireless and mobile-compatible devices are expected to revolutionize this segment.

Online casinos and sports betting PA sites as well as gambling applications (e.g.: Borgata sports app) were among the first to recognize the potential of this new technology. And they are actively developing numerous games that fully take advantage of this new technology.

Players can already play games such as poker (see below) or roulette in virtual reality, thus making the experience as realistic and as close to land-based casino gaming as possible.

But can 3D modeling be used in sports betting, and can the aforementioned Pennsylvania sports betting sites benefit from it?

Virtual Sports Betting

The term Virtual Sports is self-explanatory: Virtual Sports are not actual sports, but they’re virtual recreations of popular sporting events, such as soccer, football, or basketball matches that are inspired by real sporting events (not to be confused with fantasy sports betting).

The models are created using 3D modeling. And the models sued are rather realistic and users can place bets on the outcome of these virtual sports matches at, among others, Borgata, the app of the PA sportsbook’s we used as an example.

The outcome is randomly generated and does not reflect the performance of the real-life sporting teams they are meant to represent.

Virtual sports are a combination of real sports and casino games, and they have some advantages over real sporting events. For example: while sporting events are organized in leagues and tournaments that don’t take place every day, virtual sports are available 24/7. In fact, some sportsbooks even offer specific virtual sports betting bonuses you can claim to bet on virtual sports. And with the recent advancements made in 3D modeling and texturing, the models look better than ever.

/Comment: Early virtual sports betting apps were really ugly to be honest./

VR gambling is a great example, where modern technology and 3D modeling can be implemented to make the player experience even better. Although VR streams of sporting events are not a thing just yet, we believe that they are just around the corner and bettors will soon be able to watch their favorite teams play in VR while being able to place bets in real-time.

How cool is that? Let us know in the comments section below.

Thank you for visiting:
This is a selfie of the author and owner of Simon's Casino Gambling Blog, me, Simon András Péter, a.k.a. by the internet pseudonym SimonTheSorcerer, owner of Simon's Online Marketing Kft. This is the homepage of my online casino gambling blog, you can see what's on the website, the links to all the different sections of the website.

That's me, Simon, thank you for visiting.

Don't worry, this is not an ad! ;) Just wanted to make sure to tell you that I'm glad you visited this gambling blog. I'm Simon, the only author and the man behind this blog (if you are interested, my unusual life story can be found on the homepage, under the "About me" dropdown section).
I'm an independent gambling blogger since 2012. In this sector dominated by huge media companies, casino operators and online marketing networks, who can easily spend $ millions on their online gambling blogs, it's not easy for an independent nobody like me to survive. It took me about 6 years, working my ass off, to even have a chance to be noticed by visitors like you. I'm lucky enough that for a few years now, I make enough money to be able to do this full time (before that, I had part-time jobs, ghost writing gigs, online marketing this and that).
Now I can finally do this full time, thanks to visitors like you! And it means a lot! If you are interested, please bookmark this site (no social media profiles, I no longer have any, but please feel free to share anything on any social media networks, if you still use them). I don't have any money to advertise, and if you have a personal blog, any social media profile, please mention my gambling blog and link back to it. This the only way for a small website like this to grow. Thank you!

Charity: As a way to help others, to give back, I sometimes donate to Kiva. If you click on the ads on the website, I make some money. And in a good month, if I make more than my expenses, I donate to people and projects on Kiva.
Kiva helps young entrepreneurs in developing countries, which is an issue close to my heart for obvious reasons. If you have the means, please sign up with the revolutionary non-profit company Kiva.org and help people lift themselves out of poverty, through hard-work, and an initial investment (non-profit loan). These non-profit loans encourage entrepreneurship and hard work instead of creating a dependent class that is afraid to get a job, or start a business (because if they did, they would no longer get support and free money, disincentivizing hard work and entrepreneurship). This is the right way to fight poverty in developing countries (or anywhere else really), and if this is something you are interested in, and if you would like to know more, or to help out, please check out Kiva.org here. Thank you!
