UPDATE 2021: The COVID-19 pandemic badly effected the tourist oriented Aruba gambling sector. But interestingly, only one of the 15 casinos closed permanently. However, in the aftermath of the pandemic, more closures are expected. Sadly, this is more of an exception than the norm, and the other countries in the region were affected more. Also, some claim that the 8 visits per month rule for locals is reportedly not enforced, because of the decrease in the number of visitors. The remaining casinos are cash-strapped, and need to rely much more on local visitors (this is according to social media posts, reviews, and comments only, not sure how serious the issue is, or how widespread it is, but it definitely sounds believable, ethics are the first thing to go, when a business is desperate for money…).

- disclosure of the financial situation of the company, and sufficient solvency (at the very least I would advise $1 million in reserves + $1 million for the licensing process, legal fees + cost of the project)
- certificate of good standing of all key personnel
- detailed rules of all games that are being offered by the operator

The licenses are valid for five years. Licensed companies pay a fixed a monthly fee of 5000 AF (Aruban Florin) license fee + the gambling tax below.
