Chilli casino is a smaller online casino with a UK license (best, most trusted licence in the industry) and an Alderney license too. They are part of the BGO casino group (BGO Entertainment Limited) along with Vegasluck, 7casino, Powerspins and BGO. I have been a member of this group, particularly BGO casino (spelled officially as “bgo”, pronounced be-go) for years, and I trust this network completely. No matter how much you win, you will get your money, all the time. In fact, I withdrew over €10 000 during time playing here in €2-3 K increments over the years, no problems (mandatory ID check of course, but no unnecessary delays, always got the money, and that’s what matters). This company is legitimate, and a bigger one with about 200 employees (according to the UK company registry, 200-300 employees, divided among 5 separate online casinos).
With smaller casinos, which belong to a network, its always a question whether is it worth it to join the small casino or just join the flagship, main website. Sometimes an online casino spins off their sports betting section into a separate entity, or they create a website only for e.g.: scratchcards, so sometimes it makes sense to join the smaller website for specialty games, niche interests you won’t find catered to on the main website. Is this the case with chilli casino? NO! Absolutely not. It’s just your boring, not bad, but nothing to write home about selection of ordinary, standard, run-of-the-mill casino games, 95% of them slots, barely anything else. Doesn’t offer anything over the flagship website, just a smaller selection of games. So why join it instead of the main website? You shouldn’t, no reason really.
One of the criteria I use to tell whether a casino can be trusted or not is whether it has been around for a sufficiently long time, and BGO Entertainment Limited and its casinos on average have been in business for at least 8 years (that’s the average value,e.g.: bgo.com, the main casino has been in operation for about 15 years).
In this review I will mention many of the same things I mentioned in the other reviews of the other casinos of this network, because they have the same games, same bonuses, a shared customer service program and the same loyalty program as well. The only difference is the name and the design of the websites.
If you don’t have time to read the full review and you are just looking for a short summary, just read this: chilli casino does not accept US players. Don’t play in this one, not worth it, just stick to BGO casino, their flagship casino, it has more and better games, and that’s obviously the main focus of the company + it has live bingo and digital sports betting too. It’s a much better choice in every possible way. It makes no sense to choose this casino over the main casino of the network.
The following casino accepts US players I recommend this if you are from the US.
Simon says: There are two separate categories in the world of online gambling, casinos which accept US players, and casinos which do not accept US players. chilli is firmly the latter, not accepting players from the USA or US territories. This is important to mention in a review, because radically different games are available to both of these casino types and they should be reviewed differently. Primarily European (primarily targeting European players, mostly licensed in Europe, UK gambling license often) gambling websites always have better and more games, because software providers, due to licensing and legal issues don’t work with casinos, which accept US players. And it shows.
chilli has over 500 games, including live dealer games. While a typical US casino only has about 200-300 games, mostly slots, barely any live dealer games, no unique games and lower quality games overall. Therefore a US casino is always going to look bad compared to a European online gambling website.
So, a good US casino would still be only 3/10 compared to a European one. However, in a review I will still rate a good US casino 7-8/10 because of the different context, and it’s for different players, for US players only lower quality casinos are available sadly. Therefore when I review casino I use a separate scoring system for both fundamentally different types. A good US casino will still get 7/10 or 8/10 like it should instead of a 3/10. Just wanted to make this clear to avoid confusion as to why a 300 games US casino might get the same score as a EU powerhouse with 1000+ games.
Review methodology: In each section I review one of the primary attributes of the casino, these are: list of countries not accepted, list of games, deposit and withdrawal process and methods, uniqueness. Each of these aspects then gets points ranging from +2, meaning exceptionally good to -2, exceptionally bad. Additionally at end of the review I go through what I consider to be less important secondary attributes, such as live support chat, VIP, loyalty program, mobile compatibility, other reviews, bonuses, promotions.
At the end I tally all the points and add and subtract them from 10. This will give the final score of the casino. I use a 1 to 10 scale, 10 being the best and 1 being the worst, no 0 or minus scores.
chilli online casino review
1., Who can play: The most important thing for a player in a new casino is whether you can actually play or not, so here is the list of all the countries not accepted at chilli casino. So before you read any further let’s determine whether you can actually play at the casino at all.
/Clarification: The country of your residence, your official address, what’s on your ID card (or address card if it’s a separate thing in your country) is what you should be checking, not your current residence. So if you are from the UK and you currently temporarily reside in the US, you can still play, even though US players are not accepted. It’s important, because if you win, they will ask for your ID and/or address card to make sure you are who you said you are on the registration form, and they will check the address on your ID card, if it’s not the same as what you put down during registration they will instantly perma-ban you. And all your winnings will be confiscated, no matter how much you won! Be careful! /

chilli does not accept players from:
- Czech Republic
- France and overseas regions
- Hong Kong
- North Korea
- Sierra Leone
- USA and US territories
- United Arab Emirates
Everyone else can register and play at the casino.
Quite a long list sadly. It’s the same list as the main casino’s. -1 point for this huge list of restricted countries. I know it’s mostly not their decision, their gambling licences don’t allow these countries. However, some extra were added, probably due to what is called in the gambling industry “bonus abuse”. A nebulous term, poorly defined, often means “we are going to just ban your entire country because you are poor and it’s just not worth the hassle for us, we rather focus on rich countries only.”. I strongly suspect this digital discrimination is at play here. And a sizeable number of the visitors (about 1/3) are coming from developing countries therefore I’m very well aware of how difficult it is for them because of such practices to find good quality, trustworthy online casinos, which accepts them. A casino should strive to be accommodating to as many players as possible, especially an online one, where your customer base is really diverse.
Another -0.5 deducted for aggressively pushing registration on the casino’s page. You can’t check the games, you can’t play with the games in demo mode, you can’t read about the loyalty program, you can’t click anywhere without the website aggressively pushing the registration form in your face. I really don’t like it, very agressive, unnecessarily so. If I want to register at a casino, thank you, but I can find the registration form on my own, too agressive.
Accessibility, number of countries accepted: -1
Aggressively pushing visitors to register: -0.5
2., Games: The second most important thing to any player is the number, and also the quality of the games. Some casino game developers are just better than others, Net Ent, Bally or IGT to name three of the biggest, and on the other hand e.g.: Blue Gem Gaming which is in no way bad, but doesn’t hold a candle to these three. So the amount, but also the quality are really important (in fact the quality is more important because most of the games on every online casino’s website are old, ugly, and not mobile compatible, so the list of games is always inflated with low quality, 8+ years old games).
chilli’s selection of games: The games of chilli casino are a mix of games from the best casino software providers including: Microgaming, Net Entertainment, IGT, WMS, Bally and Playtech with some interesting smaller ones too like Ash gaming, Blue Gem Gaming, Blueprint Gaming thrown in there to make it more interesting. They have about 600 games in total, a good selection, but it’s 95% slots, barely anything else, no live dealer games, barely any classic table games, nothing unique, nothing special. The Jackpots honestly suck, you can see there is very little activity, few players in the casino, therefore I wouldn’t display the jackpots on the main website as an attraction if 70% of them (100% if we don’t count the pooled mega jackpots) are close to $2000, $3000, that’s not an attraction, quite the opposite. Also, the flagship casino has over 1000 games, and in a lot more categories + it has sports betting too and live bingo, therefore they don’t offer anything over the main website. In fact, it’s a better idea to go for the main casino instead. For the selection they don’t get a deduction, but no extra points either.

Most of these games are mobile compatible, except for the older ones. An average selection for a EU casino. But the main website has over 1100 games, it pales in comparison.
3., Deposit and withdrawal options: The third most important thing to a player are the deposit and withdrawal options. You obviously can’t win anything unless you bet money. And in this area chilli really shines. Apart from the usual:
chilli accepts Paypal as well. For both depositing and withdrawals. +1
(UPDATE: Due to changes in regulations, laws regarding online gambling Paypal will be increasingly more common as a means to pay or receive money in online casinos from April 14 2020, in fact that will be the standard form of payment going forward in UK licensed casinos and credit cards won’t be accepted directly, only through Paypal, eventually.)
However! For deposits below £/€/$ 500, an additional tax offset fee of 2.5% of the deposit amount is charged. And chilli charges a $2.5 fee for withdrawal. And for that chilli gets -2.
This is really bad, I hate it when online casinos charge extra for depositing or withdrawal, really a pet peeve of mine. They already make a lot of money, don’t put extra hidden fees everywhere, unacceptable.
Deposit and withdrawal options +1
Charging money for deposits and withdrawals: -2
Total, payment options: -1
4., Uniqueness: And the last one I think we all are looking for in an online casino is innovation, unique and interesting new online gambling games and features. Anything that makes you “Wow, that’s amazing.”. Does chilli have the so called ‘wow-factor’? No. It doesn’t. It’s just an average online casino, nothing special, nothing unique, nothing extra, just like the hundreds of other digital casinos out there. I wouldn’t recommend them, choose the flagship casino BGO of the company instead, it has almost twice as many games.
Innovation, interesting, unique features/games: 0, none
The following are less important optional factors, but still contribute to the total score:
-Live support chat: Live support chat round the clock is a must if you aim to be a top casino. Does chilli have 24/7 live customer support? Almost. This is the same customer support as Bgo has, so for a few hours, during the presumably least busy hours there is no live chat (live support is from 8.30am – midnight, every day, GMT+0). Understandable, but still, a small deduction is given, -0.5, we all like round the clock live chat support, depending on your time zone it can be really inconvenient, and the players base of an online casino is really diverse.
–VIP, loyalty program: They have the same rewards, VIP program as the flagship casino, luckily I was a member of the casino group for 6+ years, so I know it very well. Sadly I can not say anything about the VIP program, I never made VIP (I don’t play with that sort of money). Their regular loyalty program is pretty good because apart from the regular bonuses and promos (,which I really don’t care about, boring, average stuff) they uniquely in the industry give you free (actually free, no wagering requirement, no playthrough requirement!) money on your birthday the amount depends on your loyalty level, but still, free money is free money, so +1.
-Mobile compatibility: The casino is mobile compatible, most games work on mobile devices, pretty user friendly, but you can tell the older games were not designed for such small screens originally. But that’s not the casino’s fault. All the games are instant-play, accessible right from the browser, no download necessary (on mobile it is necessary, you have to download the app) everything is cross-platform and cross-browser compatible.
-Other reviews: It’s always important to check what others say about a casino, to make sure it’s not a scam and I can say without a doubt that chilli and all casinos of the BGO Entertainment network have okay reviews, usually 5/10 or 6/10, average scores, rightfully so, this is an average casino, quite forgettable. It’s not a scam and it will pay you your winnings (I was a registered member for 6-7 years I can attest to it personally) no matter how much you won. The company behind this is quite a big name in the gambling industry.
-Casino bonuses: This is where chilli casino is really not doing well, at least right now. First of all, it’s only available to UK players and it has an unbelievably high 65x wagering requirement, that’s really bad. -1. Everything over 30x wagering requirement is considered bad and this is more double of that. I strongly recommend playing without it, it’s not mandatory, you can start playing without it, it’s just simply designed to make you lose money with such a huge wagering requirement there is no way you could ever withdraw your winnings.
Total score: chilli casino gets 6/10, 3/5 stars, average, forgettable I don’t recommend it. (BGO casino, the flagship casino of the network gets a much better 8/10, choose that instead of this, much better choice, more and better games, same company, you can find Bgo casino and its review here.)
I’m pretty sure in a few years it will be merged into the main website, and all the players will be migrated because as it currently stands there is no point in keeping this around as a separate entity.

| Don't worry, this is not an ad! 😉 Just wanted to make sure to tell you that I'm glad you visited this gambling blog. I'm Simon, the only author and the man behind this blog (if you are interested, my unusual life story can be found on the homepage, under the "About me" dropdown section).|
I'm an independent gambling blogger since 2012. In this sector dominated by huge media companies, casino operators and online marketing networks, who can easily spend $ millions on their online gambling blogs, it's not easy for an independent nobody like me to survive. It took me about 6 years, working my ass off, to even have a chance to be noticed by visitors like you. I'm lucky enough that for a few years now, I make enough money to be able to do this full time (before that, I had part-time jobs, ghost writing gigs, online marketing this and that).
Now I can finally do this full time, thanks to visitors like you! And it means a lot! If you are interested, please bookmark this site (no social media profiles, I no longer have any, but please feel free to share anything on any social media networks, if you still use them). I don't have any money to advertise, and if you have a personal blog, any social media profile, a personal blog, please mention my gambling blog and link back to it. This the only way for a small website like this to grow. Thank you!

Kiva helps young entrepreneurs in developing countries, which is an issue close to my heart for obvious reasons. If you have the means, please sign up with the revolutionary non-profit company Kiva.org and help people lift themselves out of poverty, through hard-work, and an initial investment (non-profit loan). These non-profit loans encourage entrepreneurship and hard work, instead of creating a dependent class that is afraid to get a job, or start a business (because if they did, they would no longer get support and free money, disincentivizing hard work and entrepreneurship). This is the right way to fight poverty in developing countries (or anywhere else really), and if this is something you are interested in, and if you would like to know more, or to help out, please check out Kiva.org here. Thank you!
